Insurance here also includes breakdown cover - plus quite a lot else.

For example I get Breakdown cover, Windscreen Cover, Hire Car while mine is off the road, legal costs for any legal “difficulties” encountered, Europe wide cover (green card) etc etc etc

As with all insurances, you only find out how good they are if you have to make a claim. My experience has only been with Liberty Seguros via an agent called Jennifer Cunningham. Have had to call out the breakdown for my car a couple of times due to a duff battery, they speak English and have had no problems. We use the same for our house and had to claim for a storm-damaged roof this year with excellent prompt service, all settled within 3 days. Generally, all similar in price to England taking into account the additional services. If insuring your house, make sure you get 'accidental' cover which covers you for earthquakes otherwise generally you are not covered. Car Tax is payable to the local town hall and is cheaper than the UK Hope this helps.

Linea Directa for 2004 4x4 400€ pa No excess. Never claimed.

Motorhome -Allianz 500€ pa.Excellent cover.

Both properties Liberty Seguros.

Whatever you do don't go with Allianz for House & Contents and FYI Spanish Cos don't usually do All Risks. For that you need a Company like Abbeygate that is underwritten by Lloyds of London.

Road tax.

4x4' 147€ pa registered in Murcia

Motorhome 57€ pa registered.in Almeria.

You can pay the Road Tax by DD from your Bank. If your late with this there is a fine.

After the Inundation of Dec. 2016 Allianz were appalling and took 6 weeks to get Assessor out. As it was rated a Natural Disaster The Consorcia was mobilised and we are still waiting.for remuneration.

Be prepared to shop round.
