I can see the headline now, after the latest lockdown measures in the UK.

BORIS SAVES CHRISTMAS.

Boris is the Prime Minister of the UK and has survived Covid-19 infection. Things have been getting out of hand in the UK (and Ireland too) and he has had to react against the virus. Let's give him some credit and hope he continues in this way.

I've not gone soft in the head. We are all in tough times with Brexit less than 100 days ahead and a Covid Plague that could be around for years and worse again no political/medical advisors can give any prediction to its end. We (the people) can only work with what we have i.e. wear face masks, endure self distancing, wash hands, sneeze properly, etc. We're sacrificing nothing, we're just trying to protect lives and there are those who for some reason refuse to acknowledge the seriousness of the situation. Worse again there are those who don't obey the restrictions and matter-of-factly handle every jar, box, tin, packet in supermarkets/shops. We are a tolerant people and we don't correct those cretins who need correction. It's time we did. Spitting is still a bad habit and nightly we see sportspeople spitting like there was a shortage of water. We look up to these twits.

Most politicians in the UK, Spain, Ireland (to me) appear to not have the faintest idea of Covid and its rampant infection capabilities. Politicians are good at getting re-elected, but outside that they are not much good at anything. But, we elected them (saying more about us than them). I don't understand how pubs have been kept open in Spain, UK, Ireland with the latter part of 2020 underway bringing a winter of which nobody can predict. Sooner or later we'll have to take the hit. Why not do it now and save lives? Nobody is going to be starved of alcohol, the supermarkets and off-licences will continue to trade and if we wish we can get wasted in the security of our own homes.

If I drove down Piccadilly with a roaring maching gun shooting everybody and anybody there would be outrage and people screaming for my death. But, nobody can see the Covid virus. We can't hear it. So, it's out-of-sight-out-of-mind. Therefore, we have the dreadful rise of infections.

Stupidbook/Twatter are alive with braindead morons informing us the pandemic is fake. We even have them on this forum. Like I said earlier we are a tolerant people. It's time we stepped up to the plate and shouted louder.

Boris Johnson (in my opinion) is up there with Donald Trump. But, he is the most powerful man in the UK and has the potential to be the most powerful man in europe after 1st January. The Brits and the EU must work with him. Let's hope he shows some positive leadership soon. The people deserve it.

Your 99% right on. However, Boris is the only party leader we have, that can get us through this crisis.

Well Boris has done the Swiss a favour! They came to their senses today and voted overwhelmingly to keep free movement with Europe. I’m sure they’ve learnt a few things from king Boris!

No Swexit then? That’ll please all those forecasting the imminent breakup of the EU (and yes, I know Switzerland is EEC, not EU)
