I think I have finally negotiated the labyrinthine and Kafka-esque system by which to get a refund from Ryanair.  Ignore the online forms, and especially ignore the 'ChatBot' which is particularly useless.

Send a complaint email to '[email protected]'.

An automated reply (I got mine within seconds).  This includes: "To online chat with an agent click here" (the word 'here' is in blue, which means it is a hyperlink).

The link connects one to a person via a chat window.  The standard of English is a bit grim (there were a couple of replies, of which I was not certain what the person meant) but I am assured that my 'voucher' email (which includes a button to click to request a refund) is on its way.

Still, BA are refusing refunds to anyone that may have clicked a link for a voucher, whereas at least Ryanair are (belatedly) offering either/or.

I hope this helps someone get through.

Had exactly the same problems. Having said that i did request vouchers from Ryanair. But........BA. I am almost certain i requested a refund. I was given vouchers instead. Three times i complained and eventually was told by BA that i had to PROVE i had requested a refund and if i felt so inclined to report them . Pointless. Now stuck with vouchers.

It has certainly been a long winded and difficult process  getting airlines to make refunds

Todate we have received refunds from Ryanair for our flights that were cancelled in March and I have received a refund for my flights that were cancelled in May. The only outstanding refund is now for my wife's cancelled flight in May. I shall give them another 2 weeks before chasing them up again.

Suffered the same problems with a Ryanair with three flights cancelled since March, after many attempts to get a refund , finally contacted my bank and used Chargeback. After filling in online form the money came back shortly later.

Hi,

Just tried to contact Ryanair via your method (A.M 25/08/20) but it appears they have closed that avenue of contact as I haven’t had an email as yet with the hyperlink on or any email ,not even the generic garbage that they usually send.

AnyOne have any ideas on how long you get to claim a chargeback via the bank? Is there a time limit? My flights were for the end of April.TIA

My flights were in March and I eventually contacted my bank in July , the money dropped into my account after about 2 weeks . I believe you should have been refunded after a couple of weeks ,so don’t think there is a time limit.

They didn’t cancel flight hopefully they will refund but got a funny feeling they won’t. They cancelled June’s got a voucher to change for next year. Supposed to be going in October probably lose money for that as well so not happy. We said we wasn’t going to fly with them again x
