On Wednesday 1st April, we are travelling back to Spain in our camper van, following my wife's medical treatment in the UK. We are Spanish residents so hope there will be no problems crossing the border from France to Spain.

We are little anxious about what will find in Mojacar under lockdown. We are both pensioners.

My wife needs a special diet of organic vegetables and glass bottled water. Under normal circumstances I have to travel to various shops and suppliers to obtain these provisions. Is it still possible to travel freely in the area to buy such provisions?

Hi,not sure you should be coming back on the 1st as Spain is on lockdown til the 12th of april.movement is very restricted at the moment...

As for shopping,I'm not sure about mojacar but most super markets seem to be keeping stocked up.

Hope that's helpful!

Take care

Simple answer is stay in UK and live in your Campervan there until Spain is no longer on lockdown.

I am really shocked you are even asking the question.

you will probably find that you will not beable to travel through France even if you say you are travelling home to Spain.  The risk is greater here than in the UK I'd stay where you are if you can and rearrange your ferry for when this is all over.  If you are going to fall ill with this virus and you have health problems like your wife better be in a country where they speak your language and the health service may cope better.  good luck whatever you decide to do.

I have to second that! Better to be safe than risk it.

What's another few weeks in the end?

Be safe

I agree with all the other posters - returning May not be in your best interest at the moment.  Yes, supermarkets are stocked, but Military and police are very strict on how many people are in a car - you can have two, but they must be sitting as far away from each other as possible (i.e. passenger in back seat, opposite side to driver), both must be wearing masks etc etc.

As has been noted, you may not even be able to cross into France.  Now is really not the time to be attempting a pan-European trip.

On a side note, whilst lockdown is set to continue to 12 April, RTVE 24 2 days ago was already saying extension to the end of April is being considered and is likely.  Spain hasn’t “peaked” yet and until it does, there will be no relaxation of quarantine.

With regards dietary requirements, unless you can get organic vegetables from major supermarkets, you’re out of luck.  Markets are of course closed, so are many other smaller shops.  You also cannot travel freely - you are obliged to go to your closest shop, one person only allowed in, then return home - you wouldn’t have the freedom to drive around visiting a variety of shops - even if they were open.

And you'd probably only be able to get water in plastic  bottles.  The fines for breaking the lockdown rules for getting about are high - not worth the risk.

I am really shocked you even consider coming down in your camper van. Or car, or whatever. STAY WERE YOU ARE and don't travel.

As Spain is under look down , traveling within Spain is only permitted to go to one's first place of residence. as they had a lot of problems with people from Madrid coming to there holiday homes ,the moment schools got closed.

And already min.10 days ago they have shut down all camper sides and had asked all campervan to leave and go home.

Stay save
