The damage that Coronavirus is doing to the whole world is very sad and the work that the Spanish Government has done, and the residents of Spain are doing, is very admirable.

All governments are doing their best to defeat this issue and the U.K. is no exception and I think they are doing very well, they are keeping the country informed and appear to be transparent. As most people will know the British Prime Minister is now in intensive care and very ill.

I know that there are differing views on Boris Johnson but I think at this time we should forget these differences and wish the PM west wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.

Good Luck Mr. Johnson.

Wishing him all the best. No one would wish this illness on anyone. We feel sorry for his partner who is pregnant and showing symptoms. Hopefully it won't develop into anything more serious.

If I may be permitted to add my best wishes to Mr Johnson, he has them. I don't agree with too much of what he promises but I don't wish him any ill luck. I hope he recovers asap.

I'll keep my other comments to myself  as this is not the thread on which they should be aired.

Irish radio presenters earlier showered Mr Johnson with their well wishes too. One Irish lady interviewed (married to a front line worker in St-Thomas' Hospital) informed us that she didn't agree with Mr Johnson's Brexit policy and had met him on one of his walkabouts. As a humorous piece she added that Mr Johnson should be brought to any place he visited twice, the second visit to apologise for whatever he said during the first visit. [Please don't take this up wrongly, it was meant as humour].

Like many I’m no fan of Mr Johnson, but nor do I wish him ill.  Speedy recovery Mr Johnson.

I just hope the Doctors and Nurses battling to save his life don’t let themselves be influenced by the fact that he cheered wildly when winning a vote to deny them a pay rise.

As for the job he’s done in leading the UK response. Italian Doctors where pleading with other countries to see what was happening and to lockdown, our Government responded by advising older people not to go on a cruise! Their flirting with the ridiculous herd immunity strategy has cost people their lives and at the same time Boris was boasting about shaking the hands of people with the virus.

It’s all been too little, too late. We’re failing in providing testing, failing in providing life saving equipment and failing in providing protective equipment for key workers.

Other than that, yeah doing a great job great

Desso, While I agree with all you said, this thread is exclusively for wishing Boris Johnson best wishes. There are two other threads where you can praise or condemn him i.e. "In Praise of Boris Johnson" and "Boris Johnson - Falling Down on the Job."

I suggest you wait until Mr Johnson is recovered and back at work before joining the critics (incl me). There is a time and place for everything.

Politics are one thing.  Human life is another.  Get well Boris and family.

The post also praises the good work being done by the UK government with which I disagree and largely due to its poor leadership. Of course I wish him a recovery, just as I wish all those who fall ill to this disease to recover. Sadly though and as a direct result of our slow response many have and will die. You’re right there is a time and a place for everything and right in the middle of a global crisis with thousands of people dying each day is in my view timely!
