There seems to be a lot of confusion as to what exactly is happening in Mojacar.Bars, restaurants to close?Coy and Masko were open this morn as normal.

Yet I was asked to leave a bar last nite at mid nite to comply with emergency rulings. Can anybody provide clarity. The supermarkeets will nun out of booze next!!!

I know The Bistro and The Laguna restaurants are now shut ufn. I would guess this will all last 2 weeks, the period of the emergency ruling...... but no-one fully knows for sure right now.

Driving around with a tannoy announcement saying stay indoorsto avoid spreading the virus and email recd saying the beach and promenade are closed!  In Garrucha this morning all the kids playgrounds and the exercise area taped off and the entrances to the beach on the main promenade.  However, you could still get on the beach pass the marina and walk along the  prom to Puerto Rey. Lottery shop and tobacco shops open got their priorities right there!  Total over reaction all round.  Going to badly effect the economy of the areas if goes on the two weeks they have decided on.

Seems very over the top to me...for sure hurting the economy in more ways than one!!! Let's see where this thing goes,at the moment the rule for most places is,supermarkets, tobacconist, farmacies will stay open.

As of last night, following issue of the decree, all bars, restaurants, gymnasiums, retail etc are to close.  Some confusion as to whether it was last night or 8am Monday, but decree came into effect just before midnight Saturday.

Guardia, Policía Local and even CNP (saw a van full in Vera, Saturday) will be patrolling.  Going out to walk a dog is permitted, but just going out for a stroll isn’t.

Large fines of between 600€ and 20.000€ are proscribed for anyone who willfully breaches terms of decree by leaving quarantine without good reason

As a visitor self isolating in Mojacar what advice is available as to what we need to do if we suspect we are showing symptoms of covid 19?

Please use your common sense.  The less people interact with each other the sooner this virus will be wiped out.  It is extremely hard for businesses ( I think everyone is aware of this) but there really is no other way.  The EU have set aside huge amounts of money to help the EU countries affected by this but every individual needs to apply common sense and help also.

While there will be loss of lives (sadly) the sooner it dies out the better.  My hat off to Italy as they are really tackling it and people there have been amazing to date.  I hope we can all follow in their footsteps.

The phone number for Andalucía if you have symptoms is :. 900 400 061.  You won't necessarily have to go to hospital if your symptoms are light but they will get you tested.
