Information from the BBC is totally biased by a leftist group of remainers, who predominently have arts degrees and couldn,t report the truth if it was stairing them in the face. Comparison of deaths is totally irelevant as most countries are reporting differently. I know from personal experience that "ALL" deaths in care homes in england are classed as Covid , unless relatives are prepared to wait whilst an autopsy is carried out, what would you accept.

Absolutely correct James..thousands of deaths are being put down to C19 even if that was not the cause of death. I also know this from personal experience. If you die within 28 days of testing positive for C19, the death is added to the C19 death rates whether it was the cause of death or not..

BBC is run by a leftist group James ...... riiiiiiiight .... that’s why they stifle any awkward questions at question time, ensure conservatives are over represented and have an obvious right-wing bias.  Nice try gaslighting there but no sale.

The figure of 50.000 comes from both the ONS and Dr Chris Whitty.  I believe BoZo, your chief clown mentioned that figure as well

Just one wee question. Where do you get the figure of 50,000 deaths from..

This was reported by a number of UK scientists, but I accept it may not be correct, but his comments that he was proud of governments handling of the crisis ,is what annoys me.

It was a unprecedented situation, and if he had been honest, and said, we did the best in the circumstances and yes we made mistakes I could have maybe accepted that explanation. But he is still making mistakes and in my view making things up as he goes along.

Dario, Question time is so left of centre if you walked a straight line you,d miss it. Gave up watching months ago, not worth my time.

What question on Mojacar are you talking about Beileen1? The title of the thread is Boris Johnson.

I posted here at length before the start of the Coronavirus tragedy. The BBC interviews were ultra favourable towards Mr Johnson, his advisors and the Tory government. The news at 6pm for days took on an air of Isn't Boris' treatment of the pandemic great? One journalist was the most timid I had ever seen on any television station.

Was it James who mentioned "remainers" as the reason Mr Johnson is coming under scrutiny? Newsflash! James, the people of the UK voted for Brexit and it is happening. I opposed this for a long time thinking the original vote had been merely a Vote of Protest. All those of my kind of thinking have accepted for months that the UK will leave the EU.

All deaths are tragic to the relevant family involved. The death toll of the coronavirus has been dreadful. The figures given by the Tory Advisors have been suspect from the very start. Remember we were showered with figures for weeks that showed hospital deaths only. Suddenly, coronavirus deaths in care-homes were added and subsequently deaths in the community were added. More recently we are hearing of historic "likely" deaths. What we have to decide within is what is the truth? From where I sit the truth from UK Advisors was the first casualty of the pandemic.

Whether the true numbers are 40K, 50K,60K or 100K is of little relevance at this moment. The main issue is the conquering of the virus.  We are being fed horse-dung on a daily basis informing that an antidote is the ultimate answer. If a worthwhile antidote was found today, it would take at least 18 months for its distribution.

I wish I were posting a more favourable situation. The UK Advisors flouted the restrictions and consequently many Brits took the "law" untothemselves and flooded the beaches last weekend. There was little the UK police could have done about it, they were swarmed by stupid, non caring, near illiterates with come hell or high water We're going to the beach. Some stupid Irish acted similarly and went to Cheltenham for the racing festival thinking they were coronavirus-proof. Some of them have since died from a race meeting that should have been called off a month before.

I'm sick of reading posts on TripAdvisor regarding "We're off to Spain ASAP" - I can't take much more of "Our Figures Are Better than Anybodyelses"-  If Edwina Currie told me there are 365 days in the year, I'd check the calendar.  I'm more tired of my threads, posts being deleted here not to mention threads that have been closed and all for informing of the truth.

It's a race to the Bottom now and who will get there first Boris Johnson or Donald Trump? The coronavirus death toll and the future death toll have little bearing.
