Can someone please help me with my television MODEL NUMBER KDL26U4000

I am from the UK and spending 2 weeks in garrucha   unfortunately there is no internet at my complex. There is no programmed to watch in English I.e.  films etc.  Could I bring a video player from home, and connect to the Spanish TV?, and If so,  what connection do I need? Also, is there a video shop that I can rent good films off nearby. I have Netflix at home  and love my films  I would very much appreciate some help with this.

Thanking you,  Maura

Hi Maura

I am not aware of any video rental shops in area, maybe others on here are?

If you have a laptop or other portable computer you should be able to download content and then play via tv’s HDMI connection - assuming you computer is similarly equipped.

According to Sony’s specs this tv also has a PCMCIA card slot, you may be able to download to that and then playback by inserting card in tv, never tried this but should work.

Also you will find that a lot of the Internet suppliers will do a ' holiday package'. Meaning you only pay for internet while at your property. I know WiMAX do it. Maybe other members will know more.

Bring a DVD player and buy your dvds from the charity shops as they very cheap with a vast selection.

Yes, a DVD player from Argos would be fine. If you don’t know what connectors the tv has in Spain I would make sure you get a player with both scart  and hdmi outputs, just to cover all eventualities. If it’s a modern tv I would assume it has an hdmi connector, an older tv would have scart.

The Macs and PAWS charity shops are selling dvds for 4 for 1€ which is much cheaper than renting! When we come out for the winter we only watch dvds, we don’t have ‘live’ tv. We bring out a few box sets with us and they keep us going!
