Further to what Bob has said, although I use my UK prepay sim when in Spain,  another local source for a sim card with data would be Movistar, see http://www.movistar.es/particulares/movil/tarifas-moviles/tarifas-contrato-tarjeta/?filter=contrato and then select tarjeta in the panel on the left hand side and look at prepago tarifa #1 and prepago tarifa #2. There is a Movistar office on the Las Buganvillas roundabout between Garrucha and Vera which I assume can sell them.

You would be better using a pay as you go UK phone and Sim.  Spanish Sims are OK if you live there but they have a habit of stopping working after a while back in the UK and then the credit is lost.

I use an O2 sim in my phone in UK and use it in Spain too and mostly 'talk'on What's app. As long as you have WiFi or use a local bar for WiFi you can use What's App.

If you get a decent solicitor they will be on email and can answer all questions on there. We have a solicitor in Spain that we've used since buying our holiday home 12 years ago and still use them for paying our taxes and have never had to phone them.

As for the bank you can use online banking and sort things out that way and anything else can be done by going into the branch when in Spain. If you are in the UK you can always use Twitter to contact the bank and they will phone you bak on your landline if need be...that's what we do. We are with Sabadell and they are very modern and have good online presence.

And thanks for the rest of advice, im probably just having a meltdown now as trying to get kids packed for the off and over thinking everything.

I agree with this - when we do talk to our agent we use What's app, and most restaurants and cafés have free wifi  

For phoning the UK from Spain, we are on 3, so we can phone a number of countries at no cost, as local calls are included in our contract  plus we can use internet on our phone.  (We can't phone Spanish numbers, but use email or What's app as a result)
