Hi

Phones and internet packages are two completely different things.

Some like Apple - some like Android. Thats the first decision.

Then look for the package that suits the product you choose.

Personally, I still have a UK number in Spain on Apple with unlimited data at a price that nobody, that I have found in Spain, can come anywhere near too. There is a fair use policy whilst being out of UK but I have not experienced any issues in the last 2 years. I've also found that using 4G on the phone as a hotspot is quicker than using some Spanish internet packages.

regards

Depends on how much you use it. Simyo do monthly packages starting at €2 per month. Type simyo into your browser. Be sure to use google and it will give an English option.

Another option is DigiMobil.  They are carried by Movistar so have excellent coverage through Spain.  DigiMobil also offer a range of packages - I use the PAYG 10€ package which gets me unlimited calls and 5GB of data that accumulated on rollover - so I generally end up with 10GB of data per month.  For the same price you can also elect to gave 400 minutes National and international calls.  They have a whole range of packages and offer dedicated service in English.

I use EE unlimited data sim only with a U.K. number. My TV is conected through a Firestick and then hotspots to my phone. My usage can be 10 gb in a day. It’s not perfect but at £32.50 a month I’m not complaining. Almost all my calls are through FaceTime or WhatsApp so are free.

How will that be affected post end-transition when EU-wide data no longer applies?  Will EE keep the same plan? or have they proposed a new plan to cater for this?

It’s the same with Digi - EU wide data roaming means if I went to UK now I can use my DigiMobil SIM as if I was in Spain, but end transition, I would get hammered with Data roaming charges in the UK

The newer iPhones (after the X) with some carriers allow you to use an e-sim.  EE do this in the UK so I can put a Spanish SIM card in my iPhone (my uk as an esim) and use (and receive) calls using both.  It may not be important but means I can use a Spanish sim (local rates and number) but still receive or make uk calls from my business number

I must admit, I do fancy an iPhone 11 .....
