We used GSF Communications to install our WiMax Internet and UK TV (plus Sky) in Palomares. Very quick service and good signal plus fast internet. For the Los Gallardos property we have a 1.8m sat dish - a one-off cost for installation and no monthly fees but no internet (we have a 4G system from Telitec for that) and prone to losing signal after the winter winds and not as many channels. I greatly prefer the wimax system. GSF are n the square behind Spanish Property Choice by the Parque Comercial roundabout.

We are with Telplay for wi-fi/Internet & use FIRESTICK for TV & piggyback on son's Netflix. We retain our UK 3Network Smartphones as we travel.extensively.but have a Spanish HitsMobile PAYG.
Telplay is on www & nearest office at Bourganvillia roundabout Garrucha. Juan speaks English.
Lost KODI & same.buffering probs.
Our.neighbour warned us.off Wimax due to our position in Mojacar Playa. Just he was having terrible probs.
Best Wishes,

And I use a straight 4G system for internet. I’m located at Valle del Este, the 4G system I use is carried by Vodaphone and I have a rock-solid signal. I pay 60€ a month for up to 50Mbps linespeed and a 200GB download limit per month. System is supplied by http://www.4ginternet.es and the contact is a native English speaker by the name of Steve Bancroft

Hi Rob, Have just read your reply, which is very useful as my partner and I will also be looking for similar soon. About how much is the WiMax costing you? We are wondering weather to get a sat dish or another system fitted. What sort of reception do you get? We will be in Vera, just on the Garrucha boarders.
Thanks.
Martin.

The Wimax reception we get in Palomares is very good indeed with a huge number of UK, Irish and Sky channels (including Drama and the other channels we don't get on the satellite in Los Gallardos). But I believe the quality of Wimax reception depends on line-of-sight to the transmitter. The initial cost is high as we had to pay for the box plus the annual TV subscription and that all came to €399, with another €100 in cash to the Wimax installers. The onthly Wimax cost is then about €30.

Rob is correct, Satellite relies on line-of-sight and can also be affected by weather, cloud cover, strong winds etc. etc.
As an alternative to consider, I use a 4G connection from http://www.4ginternet.es
The connection is carried by Vodaphone, which where I am at Valle del Este is very very strong, connecting to either the Garrucha or Mojácar towers. The cost is 60,00€ a month for up to 50Mbps linespeed and a 200GB monthly limit. The router is free standing and doesn’t need a dish or fixed line. I use my own Cisco 887W router which is only 3.7G capable and I still get 15 - 20Mbos linespeed. A true 4G router (as supplied by 4ginternet) would garner me much higher speeds. The contact there, Steve Bancroft, is a native English speaker.
I am by no means suggesting that this solution is the best - or even better than anyone else’s - but it works for me and as it has no fixed installation, may be a consideration for you

EDIT: I have just re-read the thread and realized I have already provided this info. My apologies to one and all for repeating myself ......

Hi we used Rednet in Huercal Overa Almeria. Brilliant all done in less than 2hours.
Hello - my apartment is in Vera - very close proximity to the Bullring. I travel there a few times a year and family spend time there too. I'd like to have internet/wifi only and wanted to know if Telplay cover that area. I intend to bring a Firestick for TV programmes/films. Also, what does it cost please? Hope someone can help - I come out next week :-)
