Hi I just wanted to warn people about HITs mobile, I got one in April when we bought our apartment but didn't use it very much, then couldn't get into my site to check if it needed to be topped up but didn't worry as we were back in the UK.  When I finally did email them to find out why my phone wasn't working and get access into my account again, they had confiscated over 28 euros which was still on my phone, then whilst we were still emailing they cut off my line.

It is a pay as you go and I had put 50 euros credit on it to begin with, but was never made aware that if I didn't use the phone regularly they would close down my account and number and appropriate my money.

I needed a Spanish number to begin with for various reasons but I am now just using my UK phone, which at least works and doesn't seem massively expensive to use in Spain.

Hi,

We have had HITS for years and carry it in India & Australia. They send us texts when we need to put credit on, as I believe is every 3 months. But of course the phone needs to be on. We use it to monitor any texts & phone calls that Spanish organisations won't send to an overseas number. The credit we put on is Cumulative, so no financial loss.

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra

My phone had been on, I got no reminder texts in fact got nothing at all, no texts no messages, no calls......except for the first few weeks when I was in Mojacar.....this is one of the reasons I emailed them asking to get into my account which I managed last week to find they had annexed my 28+euros, then a few days later they closed down my number altogether......

I have had pay as you go occasionally in the past but never come across anything like this......

I have been with Hits for over 4 years now on pay as you go. To stop having to renew and put credit on every 3 months you can pay 3 euros a year to keep your account active. This has worked fine for us for the last 3 years as we probably only spend 10-15 euros a year on calls.

Best wishes,

Tony.

Thanks Tony, that would have been great had anyone told me, and far less costly.

Yes I have spoken to them twice and they say that they will not refund my money and that I can buy another sim which will then have a different number which is a nuisance, so I will just stick with my UK mobile which is a heck of a lot easier and cheaper.....
