Hello Everyone,

I have been drawing down the 25% tax free allowance from a couple of my pension pots. I also booked a meeting and took advise from the Governments Pension Advisory Service. This was not particularly useful to me as I already knew what I would be doing with the funds.

As I mentioned above, I had no problem with Royal London and Standard Life,  they just had me complete an application form for withdrawal, and the money was in my account in a few days. Excellent.

Unfortunately, Utmost.co.uk are taking the position that I/they need an independent pension advisor to sign a document stating that I have received advise from them

I am looking for somebody who is happy to just sign the documents - I do not need pension advice.

I have a rental portfolio of properties in the UK, this drawdown from my pension pot is to provide the money for another Buy To Let mortgage, you need 25% for Buy To Let mortgages!
Utmost, do not believe that I plan on purchasing another buy to let property, even with my assurance that I will use them as the conveyancing solicitor?

It’s crazy, I have a good offer that I have made, it has been accepted, but Utmost will not release my funds?

Is there anybody out there with the correct credentials who would be willing to sign this document from Utmost for me?

thanks for taking the time to read this - have a great week.

Brian

Hi Brian,

You could always transfer your pension to another provider. Also I’ve read that if you are a Spanish resident, the 25% is not tax free.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply and the heads up about the tax issue.

I did not know that - really appreciate it.

Have a great day.

Cheers. Brian.
