IBI query

When we had a similar query with our IBI, we went to out town hall, they sorted the mix up.

So was it time barred ro did you have to pay it ? I just cant understand how this has just happened when we have kept up to date all this time - its so weird - Im going to go back through our statements as I cant understand how we would have missed these two!

It was an error on their part, when they consolidated the IBI on our house (in my name) and our bit of land (in my wife's name), they thought that I should've been paying for the land, and even though it had been paid, it was quite a prosess to sort it, producing all the bills etc, but we got there in the end. 

BTW our town hall was on our side, it was further up the line where the problem was'

they have adjusted the catastral values of some properties.  We had two extra bills last year on top of the one we paid not sure if there is a cut off once the IBI is being paid they can only go back 4 years if you have never paid.

We also got caught by the Basura for the bills that they didn't generate when we asked to pay any outstanding bills for our villa after we were told that we should have been paying for rubbish even though our villa was and still is illegal and on paper didn't exist.  got fines on top of those as well!

thanks but not our problem now as someone wanted to buy it even though it wasn't legal and we were happy to sell it and move into a legal apartment in Mojacar and carry on living the dream.
