Good Afternoon

HMRC owe my late Father a tax rebate and only send this out via cheque. My English account is Revolut so I can't deposit cheques or cash into it. My Spanish account is Unicaja, I can ring them tomorrow but thought I would ask if anyone has ever paid a UK cheque in Unicaja and how much did they charge as a handling fee? TIA Anna x

I remember depositing a cheque with the Unicaja a couple of years ago, I’m sure it was less than a grand and the charge was about €26. I now send anything like that to my daughter in uk for her to take care of then tops up my Revolut account.

We deposit a uk cheque in our cajamar account every month because my husband refuses to go on line.  It costs us 18euros per month.

Not if you were a technophobe like my husband who doesn't trust online banking anyway. Also it takes 30 days to clear the cheque!!

When I was owed money from HMRC I told them NOT to send a cheque. You can insist on a bank transfer ( to a UK account). Other methods will always incur a charge of some description.

So they can transfer to my UK Revolut account?

Yes. Call them if necessary, but they just need the correct Name, Bank account sort code, A/C no, or Iban no. As far as I remember.
