Has anyone used Iberiaexpress to bring out their dog and have you had any problems?  Mine will have to go in the hold as she is a bit too heavy for the cabin

Manchester -Madrid (probably!). Will rent car there and drive down  as easier than waiting for connection to Malaga

Seems to be only iberiaexpress.  They weren’t too knowledgeable on the phone when I called booking (other numbers not answering!), and said could only take v small dogs in cabin. They then checked and agreed could take in hold but you need to attempt to book online and then they will check to see if have space in hold. Cost for placing dog in hold is £75

We are trying to find an "empty leg" for July. Expensive but I couldn't put my pampered pooch in the hold.

Quite understand this, which is why I posted the question!  Unfortunately unless your dog and the carrier together weigh less than 8kg, and can fit under the seat, it seems to be “no go” for taking them in the cabin.  Mind you as my dog absolutely hates being in the car as well as the ferry, and driving back takes 3 days driving and one day on a bobbing ferry, I think she might prefer to fly!

I would be very wary of my dog travelling in the hold. We were advised before from Ireland that the temperature changes in the hold can be harmful to a dog.

But maybe other people have done it before!!!

That is exactly why I am asking the question!  I know of a number of people who have travelled to and from Germany with dogs in the hold, apparently without I’ll effect and it seems to be pretty common in the USA.  I understand that they need to be told well in advance so they can adjust the temperature in the part of the hold where dogs are kept, but what I really wanted was direct experience.  Like you, I don’t like the sound of it, but that’s based purely on feelings and what we usually hear about temperatures in the hold of the plane.

Well I would not put my dog in the hold of a plane, I have read many people  doing so in the past 70 percent survive but a lot don't ,the stress it can cause them is unbelievable, would you like to be put there it's not pressuriced enough to survived and the condition will be freezing
