Hello

Thank you to anyone who helped answer my previous questions.

I now need the name of someone who can help organise Residencia for us. We are based in the uk at present.  I need to chat to by telephone ideally to an appropriate person so any contact numbers would really help.

Many thanks

I would suggest C.A.T Services in La Alfoquia - don’t know number offhand but they are on the web.  They would be ideally placed to handle that

We used Gestoria Salvador and they are fantastic!! Ana speaks good English files all the paperwork for you and has someone meet you at the Social Services in Almeria to take you through the process. 950 473192, on Paseo del Mediterraneo in Mojacar, next to Mac Charity Shiop. The fee was around $170 euros. I will be using them for all my legal/tax needs.

Hi,

While I totally endorse my fellow posters there's also Mundi Abogados SL in Garrucha right on Bourganvillea Roundabout. On Google Search. Salvador in Mojacar is well recommended & used by our dear friends who eulogise about the service. Rob in LG does the same about Mundi.

CAT SERVICES always well recommended and although La Alfoquia may be quite a way someone mentioned they have opened a Coastal office.

HAPPY New year,

Bob and Sandra

Pardon my ignorance but what advantages are there in being a “residentia”?

The advantage is not being refused entry into Spain when you have spent more than 90 days in any 180 day period in the country already.
Residencia is mandatory if you are resident in Spain and are intending to stay for longer than 90 days.

At the moment it is still pretty relaxed, but once (if??) UK leaves the EU, that will tighten right up.

There is a misapprehension that a UK passport entitles you to live and work etc in Spain permanently.  It doesn't.  Your UK passport entitles you to live and work in Spain for up to 90 days, after which, if you don't have Residencia, you are obliged to leave for a further 90 days before attempting to return.

Un saludo
Darío

Hi,

Assuming Brexit happens then you will be, as of a date to be fixed, restricted to 90 days in the Schengen Zone. With Residencia you effectively live in Spain.

Without Residencia you cannot exchange UK for Spanish Driving License or, if pensionable, apply for Reciprocal Healthcare.

It is really all very confusing at present.but believe the above to be accurate.

Post Brexit feel.there will be documentary changes. They do love their bureaucracy.

Best wishes & Happy New Year,

Bob and Sandra
