Can anyone help with a decent insurance provider for an apartment I am buying in Mojacar.

What is it I need for a 2 bed one bath apartment by way of insurance? Realise you need the contents side but what else should I be covering by way of buildings and public liability and what amounts should I be looking at. The 3 quotes so far seem much higher than my 3 bed detached bungalow in the UK?

Have you tried Liberty Seguros? You can go to their website for local agent.

First of all if you are buying in a community and pay community fees this will include some level of building insurance so you may only need (as I do) contents insurance so check this out before you commit to a years insurance that your fees may already cover

Try mapfre they are a Spanish company who will be honest with you and should have the bad luck of ever making a claim they will take the stress out of the incident.

Be cautious of insuring with a U.K. satellite company who do not have the infer structure to deal with any incidents.

You will definitely need to take some sort of building insurance in case say you should have a flood and it caused damage to a neighbors apartment.

Your lawyer should be able to advise if you have any doubt.

Hope this is helpful

Tony
