We are here until mid October and have just learnt that beach beds and umbrellas will be withdrawn from the beaches on Sunday by order of the Mayor, how very short sighted this is.Will not return again if this is the case.

I presume  these are the fixed beach sunbeds and parasols which are not supervised from end of September each year. I am glad that they are being removed and probably will be restored from around the end of April. They are eyesores in the low season and used by some  "undesirables" at night.

The mayor has served the Mojacar Playa area well ridding the place of public exhibitions of the dreaded stag/hen parties paraphenalia. She has turned Mojacar into a family holiday area and I agree with everything she suggests. Long may she last.

She is assisted by the English speaking Brexiteers who ridded the place (for a few months, at least) of the Panama hat "alf" drinking brigade who try to run the lives of everybody including the local mayor. They themselves voted to rid the place of themselves for six months per rolling year - a plus point for Brexit, at last!

Spain along with the rest of europe needs more female mayors.

perhaps Rosa Maria can ban women walking along the promenade with those bikinis up the crack of their bums on.  it's not a pretty sight even on the best body and normally they are not the best!  keep it to the beach if you have to tan that part of you or go to the naturist beach instead.

It’s to be expected.  It’s the end of the season and things start winding down / closing up.  Many hotels will now be closing as will a good number of Chiringuitos.  Many beach activities will also cease.

You can’t really blame the mayor for preparing for off-season, just because that’s when you have chosen to come.

Saying “we will not return again if this is the case” sounds a little silly - the only one that loses out then is you; I’m certain the mayor would not care - or even notice - if you didn’t return

My feeling is regardless of the merits or otherwise of the Mayoress, would it have hurt to keep the fixed sunbeds in place for another 3-4 weeks? This year of all years? Really?

Also, rather than the end of April, we were told by a barman last night that they're not returning till 15 June 2022 thus restricting Mojácar to a 3 month season next year whilst a 20 minute drive away in Vera they'll have the traditional 5-6 month season. Obviously I can't vouch for that so if anyone does have any inside knowledge on this please share, but if it is correct, I'm struggling to understand how that benefits business in Mojácar.
