Wise has always worked well for me. Simple process and money is often credited before I come out of the app.
we use Wise it is in our account in seconds and is always a good rate of exchange.
Wise every time, excellent service, good exchange rates and not silly charges....

Wise give you the rate of the day so if the exchange rate is 1.19 then that's what you get and transferring £1000 will cost about £3.45.

Revolut for me. Almost zero buy/sell spread, real-time rates, zero fee and instant transfers. You can also use it for other financial products if you want to, e.g. share investment, crypto, commodities, savings, virtual card for online purchases...all sorts.

Another vote for Wise from me. Nothing is ever completely fee-free - all services have to make money to continue operating, but I transferred £1000 in, converted to € in the app at the days rate which cost me 3,76€ conversion fee, then transferred the € to my bank which was 0,28c transfer fee and the money was in the bank in seconds.
I like its simplicity, that I can do everything I need in-app, the fact someone from UK can do a direct transfer to you from their bank (paying to the EU IBAN Wise allocates) and you can use it AS a bank account. Wise will also give you both a digital and physical card you can use. You can also set up various recipients and pay to them from Wise.
I have family in the UK and have had to send money there on occasion. Via Bank … EXPENSIVE. Via Wise, dead easy and very very very cheap.
We used Currency Direct just past the Mojácar roundabout, excellent service from Sam with no charges and a good rate of exchange.
