A Reply in James Joyce Mode (Bloomsday has just passed and daydream of a disgruntled Paddy):- Introibo ad altare Dei there is even one restaurant on the Playa that we refer to as The Animal Sanctuary with waiting staff throwing their arms around dogs, kissing them before moving onto releasing some cat from its portable snot green cage of another customer and doing the same and I'm not finished yet . . . . . then placing the cats' feeding bowls around the terrace hoping the restaurant owner won't see them and along come the scrotum tightening ferals walking between seated human legs under tables before the waiter/waitress brings the food to the table without washing hands and just in case you didn't get the message they invite any passing dog/cat onto the terrace eventhough the animal owners needs these waiting cretins like he needs Covid-19 and eventually he gets his animal exercised somewhere somehow and very shortly these stupid human protectors of all things four-legged will come on here bleating like the pathetic peasizedbraindead creatures they are.

Hi Anne

I apologise for my outburst!

I have recently recovered from PTCSD. ( Post Traumatic Cat Stress Disorder ) My first post in this forum was just this subject.

Matthew warned me that I was about to incur the wrath of every cat lover and would be the most unpopular person in Mojacar ( Pueblo and Playa ! )

However, I am pleased to say I am now on the mend having forgotten all those posts from the beginning of May. Of course, it was during lockdown and I suppose I probably had a rush of blood to the head when I made the first post. I had just seen 2 litters of feral kittens in the yard! I had palpitations for days.

What was I to do. Well over the ensuing days after that discovery, having been given advice to contact PAWS and the Town Hall, it became evident that nothing would or could be done. PAWS is a charity and the have no money for continuation of the neutering program. The Town Hall said very much the same thing.

So we've come to a little bit of an impasse.

I'm not sure what prompted you to ask the question in the first place but if you just happened to be a retired veterinary surgeon with a charitable nature and time on your hands living in the Mojacar area I'm sure a facility could be found.

If you have any thoughts on the subject we would be happy to hear them.

Kind regards,

Anne66

OMG I now have PTCSD. On the phone to my therapist just reading the comments.. I have a serious cat phobia. I thought about coming to live in Mojacar on my own. Note to self -think again😓
