Relocating to Lubrin

Assuming you have checked that you can come to live under the new rules your children will have to have some Spanish language knowledge as they make no allowances at the schools for English.  They will adapt quickly and soon become fluent if they are confident children.  Not sure where the schools are in the Lubrin area as it is inland and rural, most schools have a transport system to take the children to school if you live a long way from the nearest ones.  Of course if you are looking to settle here you also would need a good background in the language as well.   As for driving at the moment you still have to take a Spanish driving test to drive here if you are able to become a resident although an exchange of UK to Spanish licence is being discussed.

I know many families that have return to the UK because their children couldn't cope with the school, as Alicia has already said, they make no allowance for the fact that english children cant speak spanish, and they offer no extra help ,you can of course hire a private language teacher . After saying that if the children can get on with the language and the school, they will have a fab life in Spain,Spain is a very safe place for children where they can have a lot of freedom. good luck

There are various “international” schools here where English is spoken - the closest to you in Lubrin would be here in Vera - ValdeSerra.

We are also in the final stages now of driving licenses being able to be swapped.  All the legal stuff has been hammered out, there’s now just the waiting for both UK and Spain to rubber stamp it and it’ll happen.  My feeling is probably within next two months or so.

Lubrin is quite a way from the school in Vera 

Our son relocated at aged 11.  Kids don't need language to play ball ride a bike   within 3 months he was pretty much fluent   by 6 months totally fluent.  He has gown up in an inland village with a village school.  He had no issues whatsoever   He is now 31 abd married with a 3 year old that is already pretty bilingual for her age and vocabulary   children are very adaoting

I love this input! Really positive! It is certainly my opinion that speaking another language and experiencing other cultures is far more beneficial than most of what is taught and experienced in a UK school. I used to teach in secondary school!
