Dear Lisa. I see that this is now an older post but I'd be interested to hear how you got on. We are asking ourselves the same question right now as we get ready for our first visit to Lubrin.

Brittany Peter,

Not sure if this will still be useful to you.
We bought a cortijo in the campo of Lubrin - about 15 mins drive from Lubrin (desperate to visit again). tried when we bought in 2019 to contact local people via  online but no joy. Got some info from Village People Facebook group on Facebook (based in Bedar, mostly in English) and remember seeing info about local walking group on there, but not sure if group is still active.
Recently found a couple of others ( Spanish) and maybe post a request on one of the groups as most younger people can speak English. Try ‘eres de Lubrin’, and ‘gente de lubrin (Almeria)’

Good luck x

Hi Lisa

Thanks very much and your ideas may be helpful. It's a bit disappointing that there is nothing actually in Lubrin but we'll keep on looking. Hope you are soon able to get back to Lubrin. We will be there from the 28th August (if nothing goes wrong!) for a couple of weeks or more. We are buying on line so this will be our first look at the region and we'll probably be back again over the Christmas period with a couple of friends. If you are there, and fancy getting together for a walk on the hills do let us know.

All the best

Peter
