Hi there,
My UK driving licence is currently in the ether somewhere awaiting its spanish makeover! I have the paper copy that they issue in case I’m stopped..... my question is..... can i hire a car on this paper copy...... more importantly...... does anyone know if I can hire one in the UK???

You should be able to hire a car in Spain on that - it is a valid document in Spain, issued by Tráfico ... but hiring in UK? Hmmmm that is a question you may have to pose to the rental companies themselves to see what their current requirements are

Thank you ..... as an update..... no one will rent a car in the uk on the Spanish paper authority. I have tried all the main ones and even a couple of smaller firms.
just thought I would update on my own question.
