Hi! Advice needed! As I own a Staffy and an American bulldog (both SO ridiculously soft but...it appears they are classed as dangerous!), I'm hoping to find out if anyone on here has achieved their importation into Spain, gone through the required processes? I know you must walk them on a short leash and have them muzzled in public etc and register within a month of arrival at the town hall and pay for the licenses, show pet insurance documents with 3rd party liability  but....it's the proof of responsible ownership I'm confused by. Medical report on the owner as proof of being able to manage the dogs sensibly?! Then proof of dog training (mine have never gone on courses?!) I honestly don't know how you prove the latter two points to the authorities? I have no clue who assesses this or how to go about it, how much it costs and then I assume all of this has to be presented in Spanish?? Help!!!! Thanks in advance. Cath

You need a PPP licence.  I know nothing about the cost but would try a Google search.  Alternatively, speak to your vet.  Or you could try one of the rescue organisations like paws or Maz's canine rescue.  The latter is on Facebook and has recently rescued a staffie and was looking for someone to adopt her, which is where I saw the info about needing the licence.

Good luck K

Hi! I've messaged Maz and Sarah and will know more soon. Thanks so much for this tip as Sarah was very reassuring! I can't find the exact of location of her rescue, have you any idea? Cath xx

Sorry, no I don't.  I saw the post on Facebook.  You could try messenger to ask for location details. K
