There seem to be lots of knowledgeable people on here, so would like some advice, if possible please!

We were planning to be moving over at the end of April, having bought our property in December! I was coming on my own initially, as my wife works in an International School and was meant to be coming when they break up in June!!

Obviously everything is up in the air at the moment and our plans are on hold.

My wife has been offered her job for another year and has taken up the offer.

We were planning on applying for residency before the end of the transition period.

Now my question!!

Can she be working and paying tax on paye, in the UK and still apply?? Would it be better to try and get the school to pay her as self employed and she then pays her taxes and national insurance equivalent in Spain?

I hope I’ve explained our situation as succinctly as possible and some lovely person out there can help!!

Stay safe and well everybody

Hi Gary

You can still be PAYE in the U.K. and apply for Residencia in fact it may help your case as your wife would need to supply 3 months payslips.

Thanks Trish

That makes us feel much happier and has taken some of the worry away from our situation. Let’s hope this awful situation is over as soon as is possible
