Hi,

Myself and my partner are both in our seventies and we are seriously discussing the possibility of getting a mobile for long term holiday use in the area.

We would be very interested in hearing of other's experiences. Any Pros or Cons and any pitfalls we may not have thought of.

We both love the idea of our own little place out there to be able to come out to and both aware that if we don’t do it soon we may not be in a position to be able to.

Any help or advice would be most welcome.

Regards to everyone out there,

Judith

I would recommend renting on the site to make sure you like it before buying. However, I do rate the site highly.

We recently rented at the leisure and camping site while we waited for our property to finalise.

One drawback we found is that the mobile homes were sited close together, but there appeared to be new plots available which had more space. I think the ground rent was about €250 a month to live there, this would cover use of the communal pool , not sure if that also covered your utility bills as we were just renting so only had the utilities to pay for. Nice restaurant on site and different bands for entertainment.Expat community so if that suits then all good. Spanish lessons on site too.

We found the one we stayed in got quite warm but I expect most have air con.

Really friendly people, restaurant was lovely, staff nice and Sunday lunch good.

Coach trips out available to various markets .

From what we saw it attracted the older generation living permanently and was quiet, we never once heard noisy people coming back at night ...We were there for 4 weeks.

Separate areas for campers and those who had pets.

Bowls club on site.

Hope that helps, I would say where ever you choose rent first to get a feel, pop along and have a meal , just take your time to see if it suits.

Good luck

Sally

Thanks for the replies, we have a touring caravan in the U.K. and like the life style hence our looking at mobile homes, don’t want the worry of bricks and mortar even if we could afford it!

We would be splitting our time between Spain and UK and so thought it would be easier to fit in to a community on a mobile park.

We will be looking to come out and stay on the site to see if it’s for us, many thanks for your advice.

You need to be very careful with mobile homes down here...A friend of mine that I've known for a while  now says he was seen off big time from a mobile home site and that they ripped him off big time for some 67,000 euros some 10 years ago.The site repossed his home have him s pittance for it and then sold it on to the Los Gallardos crowd. So be very careful and get all the facts before committing to one.He is still very bitter about the circumstances 10 years on...

Hi guys, I've just landed at Los Gallardos Leisure and am looking for recommendations for a doctor and clinic that conducts mammograms and cervical smears. I realise that I would probably need to go to Vera for the procedures.

I have Adeslas medical insurance so that is not a problem, and they have given me a list to go through. Am going to make phone calls today but was hoping for personal recommendation or a stay away!?

Thank you

Thanks have an appointment with them now just to get the authorisation, so then I can go back to vithas hospital for a mamografia. Spent 3 hours on the phone yesterday going back and forth trying to find who actually had a mammo machine. Thanks for your response, much appreciated 👍

The gynaecologist in Cuevas is always highly recommended on posts.

I have just used the medical centre in Los G.They sent me for mamagramme and smear test when I asked.  If you need a private doctor then Dr. Slavica in Mojacar is the best.
