Easyjet do not fly every day from Gatwick in the winter months, i think 4 flights per week, check it out. I used to fly Almeria to LGW for buisiness in the winter and had to select which to to fly to suit business need.

Gatwick is currently off of the map if you come over the Dartford X-ing. Major road works on the M23, and unlike any other country on the planet, in England, works go on for YEARS!!!

Dont know if any of you good people are familiar with a gyratory system called Saddlers Farm. It's on the A13 near Benfleet. It took nearly two years to construct the new junction. That was 3 years ago. It has just taken 18 months to do some remedial work on the relatively new system. Only in England.

I have just got a ticket Stansted to Murcia for £12.00 (6th December) leaving about 4.50 and arriving about 8.30 - not sure that can be beaten for convenience and price...

You're not wrong. That's very reasonable. But, check the return flight.

You are right, I had to pay a shocking £17.00 for the return flight on the 15th...  and of course if you want to sit together/ in a preferred seat or bring even a small suitcase it is more, but even so.

So, you spotted my tongue stuck into my cheek. 😁

On a serious note, you have to check flights out very carefully. You fly out from Stansted, and if you dont pay attention to what you're doing, you end up returning to Gatwick.

It's not the end of the world, unless you cock up, dont notice and your car is in Essex, while your plane has just landed in Sussex.

I was thinking it's a pain that you cant get daily flights to Almeria or Covera. Then I paused and thought about it a bit more and came to the view that if the region ever got popular enough to warrant the same type of service that you get to either Malaga or Alicante, the area would lose some of its appeal.

I have some friends who moved to Hayle in Cornwall. Beautiful house, etc, etc. And then realization dawned. During the summer, the entire area becomes unbearable due to hoards of tourists with broods of screaming kids.

On balance, I'm delighted that inland Almeria isn't that popular.

You made me rush to check my flight reservation, but I AM returning to Stansted and my car!  Good point though , I shall be sure to check carefully in future.  I agree about the area getting over popular, I love it as it is, and Alicante is only a bit further if it is necessary to come on a particular day.
