Hi

Anybody recently made a permenent move to Apain (post-Brexit) & have experience of customes & inventories required.

I've read elesewhere that no tax is payable on items owned over 6 months but anybody got experience of how you prove that?

Inventory wise, is a box of records/CDs suffiecient rather than having to state exactly how many. DJed in the 80s/90s so I have a large collection which nowadays is not worth much due to Spotify & the likes but it's sentiment

I've also got a collection of ceramics, lamps, ornaments & quite a few glasses.  All not worth a lot if you try to sell them just sentimental & 'homely' stuff.

Any experiences /advice gratefully welcomed.

Kind regards

IAn

Hello Ian, we are currently boxing up our possessions to move to Huercal-Overa, we are listing each box contents as a basic description: clothing, CD’s, pictures, kitchen appliances etc. I’m not sure whether this is sufficient or not, but I’m hoping that this will be borne out on a random inspection of box contents. Good luck!

Hi

Thanks for the reply & good luck with the move.  Grateful if you aren't too busy if you could let me know how you got on once you move.

Are you moving permanently?  If so, what was your experience of the Residency process & how long did it take?

Kind regards

Ian

Hi Ian, yes, we are moving permanently, setting sail on the 9th March. We have purchased a property, and as part of this, our Solicitor is dealing with our Residencia applications. From that respect the applications have been very easy, as she has power of attorney. I will keep you posted as to the move!

...he move!

Have a safe journey & good luck.  I was looking at the Huercal-Overa area but have decided to move the search a little more south for now.

Seems the lawyer route is less hassle but I've tried to contact two lawyers in the Mojacer area & neither have replied.  Bit frustrating, I know the Spanish are more laid back & that's one reason for me to make the move, but no reply to an email after 2 weeks is a little too relaxed.  Trouble is there don't seem to be too many lawyers listed on the UK Gov website.  Where is your lawyer based?  Seems to be getting the goods done so if not too far I'll contact them.  To be honest, I'm just getting divorced so with the house sale & planned move, I'm looking to take as much hassle/stress out of the whole process.

Many thanks for your input.

Kind regards

Ian
