This will be one for chevyrecyclar but in Mojacar & Puerto Lumbreras we went/ go to the Town Hall/ Ayuntamiento with Passport/ NIE / Escritura and I think even RESIDENCIA ( but lots of years ago). Now we just take in the old Padron, wave it around and show Smartphone with request via Google Translate.
15yrs ago PL was so anti-Brit we finally had to take our Abogado along & photos of cottage. All this for a PO Box.
2€ fee pp.
Best Wishes,
Bob and Sandra

Hi. To get on the padron you need to go to your nearest town hall, ie Huercal Overa with your valid passport, the deeds for any property you are buying, if you are renting you need supporting paperwork from your landlord with rental details, your NIE if you have one, my partner put me on piggy back on her application which only took a couple of days.
If you need temporary medical cards then just cross over the road to the medical centre and they'll sort out a 3 month card you can either register with your local doctor, (ours is conveniently located in walking distance), or use the facilities in town.
We've just got partners car onto Spanish number plates and will be aplying for Residencia courtesy of Chris at Cam concepts in H/O, whos going to take us to Almeria for it soon, his partner Mandy acted for my partner on the purchase of her villa.
Really nice people, very helpful, very knowledgable and multi lingual.
Highly recommend.
Lots of paperwork and dome legwork but worth it in the end.

May I ask why you got a temporary medical card for 3 months?

Hi, we got the temporary medical card because we havent got Residencia yet but which is being applied for early August, which in itself requires more paperwork and with the help of Chris at Cam Concepts and a trip to Almeria we will soon have.
Having ones Residencia in turn gives an ipso facto NIE number which opens many more doors.
Then...............theres the Spanish driving licence to circumnavigate lol.
