Looking for an English or Spanish who is fluent in English DOCTOR .... We live in Huercal Overa but can travel to Albox, or even Lorca or Mojacar. We are about to get our Residencia and need to sign up soon. Many thanks for any info.

Well unless it's an emergency and you have a European Health card you will not be seen by a doctor, sorry.

Are you on holiday?

Once you have your residencia you can then apply to join the Spanish health care system.

We used CAT services in Alfoquia to do residencia, very easy and straightforward. They can also sort out your change to Spanish health system and depending where you live will also sort out a doctor for you. My doctor is in Zurgena and she speaks reasonable English. Friends of ours are registered in HO and their doctor speaks some English. If you need to go to hospital for appointments it is very hit and miss so I usually take a translator with me, either Carlos or his wife, Sharon. They charge 10 euros an hour and are very good.

Hope this helps,

Paul.

We used Mario soliciter in Albobox just a little further down from the gaurdier on the other side of the road he booked us an appointment in Almeria did all the forms for us got all oure pensions translated he said no need to take a translator with you becouse all the paper work was self explanatory we had no problem we Carnot speak any Spanish he charged us 100 euro we did a lot of worrying for nothing

We are now Spanish residents and are now on the Spanish health system

Also as far as English speaking doctors there is one at the Arboleas health centre we are registered with him
