You can register with the doctors, ( Rosa) and her team without much trouble, you'll most likely need a blood and urine test that is done at the clinic at Santa Maria De Nieva, not far away. From there , Rosa will do a work up of all you're meds and/or the Spanish equivalent, you'll need to get on the Spanish healthcare system which affords you a credit card style access to you're medical history and access to whatever meds Rosa thinks you need for you're conditions.
You can get meds at any pharmacias with the card.
There is a very good hospital and ambulance service in Huercal Over a.
You can actually get meds over the counter here that you probably wouldn't in the UK.
Unlike the UK you do have to pay, 10% of the full prescription cost for pensioners, if under pension age you'll need private medical but you can still register at the surgery.
Hope that helps.
