Covid vaccination

the vaccination programmes will be rolled out in your area as per the Government criteria.  If you are registered on the state health system you will probably get a contact from them by phone or email so make sure the surgery has your contact details.  Don't expect anything until at least the Spring unless you are a resident in a care home or a health worker or over 80.  we just have to be patient and await the day we get ours.  you will not get it in the UK if you are resident here unless you can go private then.

Does any one know my husband who has had liver transplant when in the rollout will he get his? Will it be after the over 80s and 70s like in Uk 

I can't comment on the vaccine roll-out in Spain as I haven't visited in over a year and the only information I have is 2nd hand and there are some discrepancies in the info being supplied.

There may be some advantages in a delayed rollout (I'm using the UK roll-out as a pointer giving 10/10; and for the record I'd take any vaccine at this minute).

Here's the situation in Ireland (not irrelevant to what may or may not be happening in the roll-out in Spain). Let me add many in Ireland are not overly satisfied with the speed of the Irish roll-out. Points of Information:- Population 5M. Vaccination Centres + GP Surgeries + Pharmacies supply the vaccine 7 days per week during normal working hours (not 24 hours per day as in Andalucía).

1. 19th February 2021:- All so called Front Line Workers vaccinated + patients in Care Homes. A small percentage of each are awaiting 2nd dose. Procedure started early January.

2. 15th February 2021:- Vaccinations of all those 85+ started in earnest and appears to be going well. Only last night two people aged 101 were interviewed on television news programmes and did the heart well to listen to such up-beat people.

3. Here's where it gets interesting:- There have been complaints from hospital staff (non front-line) and others that the AZ vaccine is only 60% effective while other vaccines are at least 90% effective. Furthermore, there is growing support from some to wait for the Johnson-Johnson one-jab vaccine (coming on stream in early April).

4. The Pfizer vaccine is favoured also and supplies are immediately available. 

5. Groups 80+, 75+, 70+, 65+ and under don't yet have even a ballpark date for vaccination. People are being asked to be patient and it appears all over 65 will have vaccinations fully administered by mid - late May 2021.

6. Our schools are still 100% closed and due to reopen on a phase basis from 1st March. Consequently, I reckon teachers and other school staff will be vaccinated asap no matter what age group possibly delaying the general situation.

In addition to Point 3 above the penny seems to be dropping and favour for Johnson & Johnson vaccine and others coming on stream is increasing. Availability of additional vaccines is driving the price down too. I'm waiting to see how things develop as I don't want to post hearsay. I would welcome truthful posts on the vaccine situation in Spain. 

The Immediate Future:- It's becoming more clear by the day that Irish current restrictions e.g. not to travel more than 5kms from home, no foreign travel to "green" light countries, wear masks etc will not be lifted until early May at best.

Re vaccine rollout , the over 85 are now being vaccinated in Huercal Overa , a lady friend of mine aged 86 had her first jab  Sunday 21st just gone, I seen her today and she is 100% ok said she had not experienced any side affects so far 👌

hi - received notification  re vaccine on saturday at the sports pavillion in huercal overa - does anyone know what the procedure is on arrival at the sports pavillion?  Thanks
