Processional caterpillar

I believe if you go to the town hall they can arrange for them to be destroyed, I have read this somewhere on Facebook forum I believe.

I would take some photos so it may be easier for you to explain if you are like me and still learning Spanish.

Town hall will only take action if it is on public land.Sadly mine are on my own land.

We have had many on our land, we simply cut the branch supporting the nest and burn them.

I guess that as in the U.K. if there are issues on your property or the grounds it is in, then it is you as the owner that has to deal with it. It might be pest control or perhaps a tree surgeon would deal with it? The ayuntamiento should be able to suggest someone for you.

Hi there, we have moved to Almeria this year and with three dogs we have been watching and waiting. As soon as we saw them start building the nests.....we cut the branch about 4 inches before the nest and then put them in an old wheelbarrow with a bit of diesel and burnt them. We had about 30 on 3 trees. We couldn’t afford to let them get old enough to go walkabout!!!! It was relatively easy but time consuming. Hope that helps.
