Hi, just wondering given there seem to be quite a few people going back to the UK by various means.
Is it mandatory that once you arrive you have to self quarantine for two weeks ?

arriiving back in the UK there is no need to self isolate for 14 days,UNLESS, you think you have symptoms, which to me seems crazy but hey ho
not yet official but being floated by the british government as something that expats returning may have to do after lockdowns are lifted in Europe and uk. as it has been worse in uk maybe Spain should make Brits coming here isolate for 14 days.

I'll be keeping my eye on that one as I have a long-term rental in Spain. I usually go over 3 or 4 weeks at a time but
haven,t been since the lockdown started. However, when I do manage to get over again and if I am made to
self-isolate, do I self isolate in my own apartment.? Might sound like a silly question but just thinking on how that would work out.

Self isolate is staying at home. There's no policing of this. The UK is not a police state (Thank god we're leaving the EU - but thats a different topic).
When you come here - I strongly recommend staying at home as long as possible. Three months ideally. But Corona usually starts kicking in by the fifth day. If youre over 50, fat, male, black prepare for the worst. If you have contracted it - and have diabetes, high blood pressure, previous heart disorders, then pray because youre prospects of recovery are slim.
Corona (the SARS2-Covid-19) acts fast. 14 days is unnecessary but do you really want to go outside when there's still around 500-600 deaths every day across the country?

I have read that Spain requires anyone coming into the country to isolate for 14 days, but can go out to buy food or for medical reasons. This commences on 15 May and is in force until 24 May. Then it will be reviewed.

Blimey Skysword you don't mince your words do you? But it is time people started to realise that this virus needs to be taken seriously. Pedro Sanchez and the government here in Spain have done a brilliant job and most people are listening obeying the rules, but unfortunately there are still people out there who couldn't care less , no mask or gloves coughing and sneezing and if you say anything or look at them they look at you as if you have gone mad. Wake up everyone this is here for a good while yet. Stay safe everyone.

Take this virus seriously. My 28 year old Personal trainer ,super fit grandson got it,twice. He is white and slim and no health issues. The first time he got it ,he said it really knocked him off his feet, and he stayed in his bedroom. It shocked him as to how bad it was.He got it again ,just over a week or two of recovering, but not as bad.He is not a softy, but it really scared him. Please wear face masks when in public.
