What to do with a mechanic who quotes 3,500 Euros for a total restoration, and then completes half the work and wants the full price.
Hello Readers. I bought an old, not so old, MGB. GT. I paid 500£ for it in England, I bought it sight unseen, a friend bought it on my behalf, and I arrranged the transport to bring it over here. Huércal-Overa. My intention was to restore it. Always a BIG BUT, I had suffered two strokes, I was (am) quite fit, none smoker abstained from alcohol, walked five miles a day, but refused to believe that the the strokes had affected me, I soon realised that the strokes had in fact done some damage, when I looked at a diagram or an illustration my brain converted it backwards. I have to get to the bones of the disaster. I was forced to take the car to a garage that had newly opened garage in Urcal by a Portuguese bloke to be restored, he told me he was short of money and had five mouths to feed, so I gave him money up front, I did that several times, seeing no progress on the rusting heep. After about nine months I had the car brought back to my house. I was talking to a friend who recommended a welder who did a good job, and now I needed it finishing. I'd spent 3,500£ on new parts that were needed to make it into a first class model, I was recommended a garage not far from Las- Labores. At first meeting the two owners came to my house and took about thirty photographs and a couple of days later said to finish the whole car including upholstery in leather, would be 3,500 Euros completely finished and ready for matriculation, that was over two years ago and 2,000 Euros and my pocket 2,000 Euros lighter and the car, now sprayed but bare, I'd had enough and wanted to take the car back to my house, the garage owner had by that time increased the price for the sprayed body and no other work to be done another 1,500 Euros the car remains in this garage . Does anyone know my legal rites to get my car and new parts that I had provided.
