We signed up with WiMax a few weeks ago. I was impressed with their service and how quickly they came to install, but one caveat: when I initially contacted them via the website, I was just told "sorry no coverage in your area" and despite pointing out our neighbours about 100m from us were with them and sending a Google Maps and GPS reference they still said "we do not cover your area". Then I talked to Jess at Voss Homes who has a backdoor referral service, she contacted them and n less than two hours someone from them contacted me (who spoke good English when he called) confirmed we have coverage and arranged for the guys to install the receiver. There was a small hitch to a matter of a hill in the wrong place, but they suggested a workaround, we did that and they arrived back the same day I called to tell them the workaround had been set up.
As for IPTV, as I am very IT and comms literate, I am doing that myself - basically a VPN and suitable TV sticks if you understand what that is - which allows iPlayer and the other UK catch-up services to work as well as Amazon, Netflix and Now TV (which gets you Sky content). It also allows the TVplayer app for live UK to work. I am happy to chat to people who want some help if they want to go down the DIY route.
Be aware though, that other than Freesat and a VERY big dish, almost all other forms of watching UK channels and catch-up services are strictly speaking in a legal grey area at best (you are not breaking any criminal laws, but are in breach of the contract and licensing agreements for the service), and any of the services might just stop working as the companies play cat and mouse with providers of systems that trick their geo-protection. If you use any of the services that provide Sky or other subscription services and are not paying Sky (or whoever) their subscription, you have stepped beyond a grey area, into criminal activity (you are getting something you should pay for for nothing) - no individuals to my knowledge have ever been prosecuted but places like bars who show stuff in public have.
