Hello one and all. I am a widow in my late 60s. I have lived on the Costa Blanca for 20 years and have decided I want to  relocate!

I want to move to a  small town/village location with a community feel. A nice mix of Spanish/expats would be nice. I would be looking to buy a village house it similar, possibly an apartment.

My current home for the last 20 years is a large village of 7k with a 70/30 mix of Spanish and expats. I drive but I would prefer to be in a community where I could access things on foot. Reasonable proximity to a larger town when needed would be good.

I currently do some volunteer activities with a local animal welfare group, I play petanque and I enjoy socialising.

I could just take a pin and drop it but if anyone can offer me some helpful advice, it would be much appreciated.

My intention will be to get some sort of shortlist and then come down to the area to physically look around but it would be good to find an area to hone in on first.

I was thinking maybe in the surrounding area to Huercal Overa?

What about San Juan de Los Terreros.  Friendly, good mix of nationalities. beautiful beaches, petanque, quizzes  ladies group.  Large Town of Aguilas 5 minutes away. Cinema.  25 minutes drive to Almenara Centre with lots of shops. Everything in Terreros, good supermarkets, weekly market, cafes, bars, restaurants.

Thank you for this suggestion. I will investigate further :)

I had a quick look on google map. I see its on the coast so I am guessing property might be a bit more expensive? I don't know, it was a thought.

Ity certainly sounds like it has a lot of the features I would be looking for.

That's great. When you get settled if you choose this area, please come and see us at Puppy Rescue shop in Albox. We always need volunteers in the charity, as well as fosterers.

I most definitely  will.

Did 6 years volunteering at an Animal Charity where I am living now, so if I end up there....I'll come visit.
