We have always used Mr. Juan Rubio Granardos. He is partially English speaking and we have used him for 2 ,property purchases without problems. His fees are all inclusive unlike others who add othersbduch as transfer of utilities, etc and even want 50% in advance like Mr. Davies in Mojacar. Juan is totally honest but often frustrating in that you have to chase him as you do with so many out here. Dr. Bob

If you don't mind using a solicitor based a bit further away at the Las Buganvillas roundabout between Vera and Garrucha, I definitely recommend Maria, Esther and Nicoletta at Mundi Abogados who have recently handled our purchase in Los Gallardos. They speak excellent English, you don't have to chase them and they provide a really good service including things like obtaining NIE numbers, getting utilities connected and accompanying us to the Notary etc. We will also be using them for wills and tax affairs.

For house sale or purchase, Mandy Large in Huercal Overa is excellent

We had a very poor experience with a solicitor for whom the concept of a "client account" did not extend to keeping client monies separate from his own slush fund.  Thanks to help from a number of other professionals, the situation was resolved, but I would advise that you get a Spanish bank account set up in advance of the purchase, and keep your money there rather than under the control of a third party.
