Hi Folks,
We are selling in the Costa del sol and thinking of Amleria. We are looking at inland within 30-40 mins if the coast, wanting a property with views and land. Can anyone recommend a good area and if so why? Many thanks

Hi,
2003 we purchased a mountain.nr. Puerto Lumbreras with a 150 year old partly reformed cottage. Now restored. This is 45min from our Mojacar property even on autovia.
People will claim.properties are similar distances & times but they aren't unless you have a Harrier jump jet.
Love the cottage & tranquillity way more than Mojacar. For ease of access follow the autovia system.& then branch off.
Hope that helps in some way.

Hi
We bought in Fuente Amarga, near Porticceco, north of Huercal Overa, 18 months ago. A very quiet area, bars and resturants 10 mins drive away, but an excellent community, not the GnT brigade, but their when needed. 40 mins to coast, we toured over 6 months in a camper before deciding on location. Contact Andy at Voss homes for update on whats available in Huercal area.

Seconding James's comment, we have just purchased a property in Fuente Amarga and are very happy with the area. It's about 12 minutes from Huercal Overa and the A7, around 40 minutes from the coast. A mix of UK migrants, ex-pats and Spanish.
We got ours from Voss homes too - although dealt mainly with Anna, Andy's wife and partner in the business.
We also looked at several properties around Albox - Albox itself is more rough and ready than Huercal Overa, but has its own charms and there are some very nice villages and isolated properties nearby. There are a lot more Estate Agents there than in Huercal Overa with "variable" service. We found the best was Almeria Property Finder - talk to Cathie who was really helpful with us.
Hi,
Thought I would.weigh.in again as would second.the comments.of other posters apart from Albox where we.initially lived in.Albanchez. I'll speak as I find and Albox.to me was the armpit.of the world & I spent 30yrs working globally. Also overrun with Brits although that suits many.
Just a thought. When you visit the areas mentioned.make one.visit in.the height.of Summer & be aware of pig farms. The 2 villages nearest us are virtually miasmic during hot weather.
Voss Homes now has Spanish Property Choice as a near neighbour although many.have the same properties.
I'd be amazed if Andy or one of.his staff didn't pick up on your post.
Saludos ,
Bob and Sandra

Voss homes again, partner bought her double plot villa thru them in a small village called "Urcal", 7 minutes from the A7/E15, roughly 45 minutes from the coastal towns of Garrucha, Villaricos, Aguilas, Mojacar, roughly 12 minutes from Huercal Overa.
We're roughly half way to Almeria airport as well as the newly opened Murcia International at Corvera.
We have a nice mix of Spanish and english as well as a couple of dutch, darts friendly on Thursday night, Bar Amazir serves coffee and Tapas in a morning and evening, drinks and usual stuff later, they'll even do full english if you ask nicely tho its not on the menu lol. As has been suggested, some people rent motor homes and really check the area out, there have been a good few villas go up for sale lately, beware that its rumoured that the government are refusing to grant permissions for new in ground pools so if you buy a villa without one with the intent to have a pool put in there may be problems ahead, cant confirm the new ruling and have seen quite a few villa ads that simply state, "room for a pool" !!
We've been here along with some other couples since March 2017 and love the peace and tranquility, ok you can and will notice a piggy smell morning and evening but as soon as you do its gone. Roads are great, as are the people, come on down and chill lol

Hi. We bought a villa with 4 acres of land in the hamlet of Los Tollos just outside El Saltador. We love the area and being just a 5 minute drive to Huercal Overa. Don't live there full time yet as kids are coming up for GCSE exams soon, but will move permanently shortly after. Love the peace and landscape. True, you can smell the piggies sometimes and the flies in the summer can be a nuisance... but it's worth the price to be in a peaceful but convenient location. Also bought through Anna at Voss Homes. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Very patient and very knowledgeable of the area

I’ll weigh in with something different - we live just outside Vera in the Valle del Este golf resort. It is peaceful and tranquil 9 months of the year and whilst a few more people arrive in the peak season, it’s not noisy or uncomfortable. Valle del Este is a large community 7 minutes from Vera, 7 or 8 mi utes from Garrucha. Not quite as inland as the other posters - but still a nice peaceful haven.
Because it’s not next to the sea, the holiday makers tend to go to Vera Playa or Mojácar first and we end up here with those that are either golf fanatics or couldn’t get a seaside rental.
We got our property through Valerie at am3 in Vera - an American born English speaker who is fluent in Spanish and French.
Valle del Este has its own Centro Comercial with a very English Sports Bar, a beautiful Spanish restaurant who specialize in seafood and opening very soon, a Thai restaurant who are offering Fish and Chips on Fridays and a Sunday roast on Sunday (over and above Thai food). There is also a car rental company here, Sol cars as well as our internet providers office, Hola Fibra - Valle del Este has Fibre optic run throughout.
There is also a VERY small Coviran supermarket, buuuuuuut ....... you are mainly served by Vera which has 4 large supermarkets (soon to be 5) and of course an Iceland’s.
It may be that VdE is far closer to the coast than you really want, but I wanted to throw it out there as an option because it is such an oasis - and also let anyone else know what VdE can offer
Un saludo, Darío
