Can you recommend a lawyer to assist with Non-Resident Tax?

Can anyone give me a personal recommendation for a lawyer, ideally local to Garrucha (near Mojacar & Vera) who can help me manage and submit my non-resident taxes?

I didn't realise until today that I am liable to pay this since I own a property there.

I don't rent it so have no income, but can now see there's a process to tax me anyway based upon property value and assumed income potential.

I can see that there's considerable complexity in the process including tax variations region to region.

I'm also a dumb foreigner who cant speak Spanish so an English friendly but not Rip-Off-Britain price structure would be nice.

I can recommend Juan Ignacio Lopez Alarcon. He is a great guy, has his office in Vera and is local to the area. He is different to most lawyers in that he actually cares, he is not driven by money. He has taken care of our property purchase, residencia, medical registration, just about everything really. His English is perfect and he is not rip off Britain prices. He's also whatsappable, which makes things a lot easier. If he can't do what you require he will know someone locally that can.

Hi,

We used Esther & Maria from Mundi Abagados at Los Buganvillas to sort out all our taxes and bills when we were non-resident (and everything else since).

you don't need a lawyer you can use a gestator or tax accountant for this. Indalo Partners in Parque commercial Mojacar are english with a spanish tax person. You may find that you receive fines for non declaration in the past as the it is up to the individual to make the tax returns when due not the tax department's to ask for it.

For non residents tax, do a web search, companies in england are available and very competitive

Search for Spanishtaxforms.co.uk.You just give them the details and they complete the forms for you and they will even submit them for you for a small fee or you can just take the completed forms to the bank to to be paid.Easy as anything.

Thank you very much Orsen Wellies for recommending the lawyer and he has been soooo helpful. My husband is 81 and I am 77 and we have a 6 month stay problem! He has been the only one to offer us help.. We are meeting up with him on Monday. Thank you again. The Almeria Forum deserve praise too.

I'm glad he is offering you help. I was in the same position, I found him to be wonderful, very honest. I tried Maria that all the Brits seem to recommend, unfortunately I did not receive good advice from her. Good luck.
