Can anyone recommend: Shutter repairs

Hi all

We have a small place up in El Calon (other side of Villaricos) and our main roller shutter broke on the day we were leaving.

Anybody know of a firm that carry out repairs/replacements?

They are of the plastic, slat type with a pull down 'rope' to open and shut them (which also broke at the same time!).

Unfortunately there are not any spare slats inside the top box, otherwise I could have fixed it myself.

We only visit 3 or 4 times a year so timing is of the essence!

It may be that we need to move on to a different type of shutter etc.

Hi Gary,

We have an apartment in Garrucha and we’ve just had our shutters repaired for the princely sum of Euro 20.

Can’t remember the name of the workshop (we’re back in the uk at the moment) but it is next door to the Petit Bistro / Manhattan / Cenachero on the paseo maritimo at the Mojacar end.

Antonio is the man who runs the place and they make new shutters, carry out repairs etc.

I think I'd be ecstatic if they got repaired for €20!

I'll Google Maps them and drop them an email in dodgy spanglish!

No problem, the English equivalent is aluminium carpenters.

I used them last week to repair two of my old roller blinds at Mojacar Playa. Their workshop overlooks the port, popped in. No English but a few words and photos on my phone and they turned up a few days later (not the day they said, lucky I was in).

Two men worked hard and fast to strip the old blinds, fit new pull straps and guides.

I was very happy to pay the 40€ asked and give another 5€ tip.

It would have been better if brush up on my Spanish.

Well worth it and I will use them again.

Thanks all.

I have just got back from Spain.

Had them fixed by 'JARA' (sort of opposite the Argentinian restaurant).

Called me when they said they would. Turned up exactly on time and on the correct day. Charged me €40.

Fantastic result, especially as our house is near San Juan!

Carpinteria metalica Garrucha, workshop over looks the beach on the port road. Truck parked outside.
