Hello all,

Our names are Mick & Jayne and should be ready to move to Garrucha area  within the next year [chomping at the bit] we are trying to work out a monthly spend estimate ie average price healthcare plan, Electric and gas standing charge etc. We are really looking forward to starting our new lives i think the only thing we will miss is our watching Rugby union. we have a package with bt here in Blighty where you pay broadband, tv, [with bt sport]  all in one package. Basically we would like a similar set in Spain does anyone know what companies provide as such and what the prices per month are. we may be a pain in the coming months with lots of questions winging their way to you good people.

Chow for now Mick.

GSF on MOjacar PLaya (behind Spanish Property Choice) do a Wimax broadband and TV package with full UK terrestrial and Sky Sports. We have this package for our rental property in Palomares. Our package (but they have others) is 250€ a year for the tv mag box, 30€ a month approx for the wimax broadband and an installation charge of 100€. http://gsfcommunications.com/

Europa Digital in the Parque Commercial on Mojacar Playa relentlessly advertise on Spectrum FM for their "new" system with everything. But I don't have details.

So r u buying or renting?????

Our 3 BR apt on Mojacar Playa we budget for 50€/ mth ( evening out through year) & 10€ pcm for water. We have IBI tax (285€) & rates/ bazura tax of 35€/quarter. Then there are the car expenses-road tax & ITV. Spanish Tax even as.non,-residents.'Bank charges out here.

We are on Telplay at 32.50€/pcm for broadband & with Firestick we get Netflix & intermittent Kodi (buffering). They say set top box/ IPTV is brilliant but really can't confirm. Strangely, it seems, we didn't move to Spain to watch TV but maybe when moribund.

Enjoy your.move.

i found GSF expensive there are other people who provide an IPTV box that covers just about every channel you can think of for a lot less, Airnet in Garrucha have fibre optic 50 mb for 22.95 a month.

No, we certainly won't be parked in front of the devil box, just for sporting events (not football fans), we are buying property, maybe short term rent to get feel of different places on that Almeria coastline and perhaps no more than 2 or 3 miles inland. We are moving out before our official  retire age (Jayne is pee'd off Waspi working stressed out for NHS and i'm getting a miserable old cynic in uk in search of a better life so it's vital to get an estimate of our Spainish living costs, apply our personal pensions and use residual in sale of our house to drip feed to pension age and a nearing legacy.

Thanks for any info

Hi - my wife and I are also rugby fans

We have an IPTV box purchased from Total Entertainment (250 euros) in Mojacar (on sea front). Our broadband supply is Fibre Optic from Airnet Garrucha (950 099280) 50mbs for only 22  euros per month

With this package we have Sky Sports, BT sports, Bein sports plus BBC/ ITV Channel 4 & 5 plus lots more. In addition, there is a film library, box sets, 28 day catch-up and more

Hope this helps

Tigers fans, Doreen & Keith

Hi,

Excellent info, thanks, sounds just what we will want. Is the 250 euros per year or a one off payment. We too are ardent Tigers fans and reside in Rugby,  loyalty was sorely tested after Saturdays performance, or lack of it! Headless chickens come to mind. Thanks again we may see you in a bar, (we will be the ones shouting at the telly )in about 6-24 mths waiting on factors.

Mick & Jayne,

We have an android box, downloaded various apps and have most of the TV channels including most sports ones and Sky, films and box sets. We use Smart DNS proxy which makes your IP address look as if it is in the country you are trying to view programs from so you can get catch up TV and you also get a VPN, all for $49 for 2 years. Nearly everyone gets buffering to a smaller or greater degree unless you want a dish the size of a house side stuck somewhere on your property.

There are loads of internet providers with different deals and prices, you pay your money and take your chances.

Good luck,

Paul.
