Hi

My wife and i have been looking at funeral plans and wondered if anybody has any good or bad comments especially if they have had the misfortune to have to use there services. We are pensioners and they seem to be a good idea as as far as i can see if your partner dies you make one phone call and they do everything for you.

If you are here permanently I would suggest santa Lucia a Spanish company. We have been with them for 13 years and have recently had their rep down to go over the policy with us. He is Spanish but speaks English lives in Vera and their payout figure is guaranteed to cover everything. We don't have life insurance just a funeral plan. Worth investigating at least.

Hi Karen, no thanks necessary. You have been a star over the years even helping with the Telplay engineer and then with the Mammography given that Collyfer allows access to private services at a reduced rate. Really fits in with our nomadic lifestyle and the fact that.the plan is in.effect in any country globally.

Strangely enough we did try Santa Lucia at one time and started receiving phone calls in garbled English.offering all firms of Insurance as well as Funeral Cover. Was a real pain.

Early Season's Greetings,

Bob and Sandra

Good luck with whom you decide to take your funeral plan. I have had no problems with Santa Lucia cold calling but when suffering a tragic  bereavement myself colyfer were on the phone within minutes asking about arrangements even though I didn't know who they were, so naturally I have steered clear of them ever since.

Hi Lyn, I´m so sorry to hear about the fact that you didnt like Collyfer Funeral Directors contacting you so quick, this would only happen if we were given your number and asked to call you, but just one point id like to make is that Santa Lucia is an insurance company not a Funeral Directors so they do pass their clients to a local funeral director to conduct the funerals then they cover the charges, they dont deal direct with the clients when the time comes.

I also know that when a person passes away in hospital, the maurtuary have a book of funeral directors and you are asked at the time if you have any insurance or plans? if not you are given the book and told to choose one, this is purely to enable the hospital mortuary to pass the deceased onto the Funeral Director as they do not have much storage, everything moves so quick here and it also stops them being kept in the hospital corridors.

I personally dont cold call people to offer them insurance, i sell the insurance to make sure your ok when the time comes and offer a 1 call service, whereas you can just call me and everything is taken care of.

sorry for disrupting your post Tony, but i needed to defend myself and the company I have worked for for the last 4 years.

Hi,

Yes, definitely Karen at Collyfer! Haven't had to use their services yet, thankfully, but confident if/when the time comes, they will be there!

Best Wishes

Vic and Jackie

Karen as you have only been with colyfer for 4 years you would not have known about the trauma I had with your company 7 years ago. To late to go over details. Sufficient to say that i have a funeral plan with santa Lucia who have discussed with me which funeral directors i wish to have when our time comes and also what Tanatorio I wish to use.
