Hello all........

I have an apartment in Garrucha and visit there every couple of months on holiday from Ireland. I have friends flying to Murcia Airport on Tuesday  and  they need to get to Garrucha from there......I have always flown to Almeria and got exclusiveairportshuttles from there to Garrucha.....I understood that this company also done transfers from Murcia to Garrucha but it looks like they don't.......what's the best/cheapest way to get from Murcia Airport to Garrucha. Is there another bus service available.....Their flight is Tuesday and don't know how they can get from the airport to Garrucha. Thanks in advance....Kieran

Hi,

Have always found that journey a nightmare unless you have transport. Rob may come up.with logistics ln Public Transport.but it may be preferable for you to rent/ borrow a car locally & collect them. Or, as per Rob's advice, hire from the airport.

There are numerous previous posts on here dealing with similar.

You can also advertise for a lift.

Hope it works out.

I agree with Bob, for an international airport it is shockingly-badly served by public transport. My preference would always be to hire a car as it gives the chance to look around the area, the bus route is not appealing and a taxi would be about €150 plus each way (e.g. the example here).  To the bus stop in in Santiago de la Ribera you would need to get a taxi. When we were taking our hire car back to Centauro last month there was a young couple who had decided to walk with their suitcases the 4km from the bus stop to the airport - not fun when it was 35+degrees with no shade along the road.

So taxi from the airport to the bus stop in Av. Mar Menor in Santiago de la Ribera. Then Latbus bus route 70  (every couple of hours) to Murcia bus station - http://www.latbus.com/linea.asp?Interurbanas=70&dira=1&aradaa=2347&aradab=85.

But there are only 2 buses from Murcia to Garrucha on Alsa (https://www.alsa.es): one at 04.35 and the other at 14:00 which probably doesn't fit with the flight.
