Have a flat in Garrucha and I  pay the monthly maintenance fee. I have a roof terrace, whose access door is minus door handles. As a consequence we were trapped once and thought it not unreasonable that  it should be put right a.s.a.p. Got reply saying it would be done. 6 months on nothing, all communications ignored and unacknowledged. I would welcome any suggestions and if anyone knows an English speaking advisor/solicitor in the area, that would be welcome too. Many thanks,  Andrew.

Hi Andrew,

It doesn't really require a.local Solicitor although there are well respected & English speaking ones at Bourganvillea roundabout and.here in Mojacar.

When we had a similar problem it was just a phonecall.

Amanda Oakley.of ALO SERVICES, ZURGENA.

On Google Search.

Can get the names of the ones here and in Garrucha.if you would prefer.

So annoying isn't it and so unnecessary.

HAPPY New year,

Bob and Sandra

why are individual property repairs coverned under maintenance charges, in uk this would only apply to communal areas.

As always good advice. Thanks and a happy New Year too. Suspect all I really need is a Spanish speaker to phone on my behalf.

It is a communal door shared with 2 others.

Apologies if I am replicating my reply. The door is communal. Judging by the bumps we are not the first to be trapped and the door is in such a state I do not think I could attach a door handle - big holes in metal, too big to take a screw. Needs a new door. Would like to resolve in nice way, but at this stage in UK I would be seeking some redress. So if there is a good charmer out there who could phone on my behalf etc. that would be great. Cheers, Andrew.
