A large rock has fallen and landed against the wall of my house. Access to the house is difficult due to it being in a small lane ie, no large machinery possible to remove it. There is a hill behind the house where the rock has fallen.  Wondering if anyone has had experience of this in terms of how to make the house safe from further landslides.

I've not done it but seen it done. They hammer metal pegs in the ground and stretch wire fencing almost like tennis court netting over the area then spray type of cement to firm up the slope. Just depends how big the slope is. A builder or even a garden landscaper who works with a builder would know how.
You could also plant small trees or shrubs depending on the gradient and geology of the slope, as a deterrent.
Hard to know without seeing it or seeing a photo.

Hope you find someone who can sort it.
