Hello, Does anyone know if there are ‘coach and accommodation’ excursions TO Seville FROM Mojacar or nearby area? Probably looking for a 2 night stay so we can have a look around Seville in beginning of October. Thanks

never seen any advertised unless they are the ex pat groups like the British Legion or Group of Friends in Albox.   They do seem to have Spanish coach trips but I can't imagine what it would be like on board a coach very noisy they like to talk loudly and sing.

Hi. A few years ago we went to Seville for a few days. It was through a Costa Blanca travel agent who picked up passengers from the motorway service area at Lorca. The company was Gandia travel. Also CATS services Alfoquia do short breaks sometimes so it may be worthwhile contacting them.

Why not go by train? We did that last month, stayed 5 nights in Sevilla and did day return excursions to Cadiz, Jerez and Cordoba using the hop on buses there. Well worth it! You could start with Cordoba as it is on the way and it is a must, we wished we had stayed longer.

There is a bus at 8am from Mojacar (opposite taxi rank from centro comercial) that gets you just after 9 in Almeria. If you are over 60 you can buy a « carta dorado » at the train station for 6€, it gets you 40%off your train journeys.(valid one year)

We booked hotel online, the area of Santa Cruz behind the cathedral is very lively with tapas bars and restaurants.

Hope you enjoy your stay!

Hi again Angela. I know you particularly mentioned Seville and I suggested Gandia travel, but another trip we did which you may or may not be interested in which we arranged ourselves was to Valencia. We got the bus from Vera bus station to Murcia, then changed and got the bus to Valencia. It was very easy, bought the bus tickets online and had a wonderful few days in Valencia. Next one I'm looking at is to Malaga, bus from Almeria bus station direct to Malaga. Just a thought.

Hi Alicia,

We only found out about the « carta dorado » that would have given us 40%off once in Sevilla. We had bought tickets on internet and paid 111€ One way for the two of us.

The train goes to Granada where you change and get through security to go on the Avant, the fast train. Then it stops at Cordoba where I would suggest you stop for one night, and then Sevilla. We left Almeria at 10.30am and got to Sevilla at 3.45pm.

From then we used our « carta dorada » and got our reductions.

We came back a different way as we went to stay with friends in Marbella and took a train from Sevilla to Malaga.

It’s difficult to return from Sevilla to Almeria without staying overnight in Almeria as the train leaves Sevilla at 7.20 pm and gets to Almeria at 12.30am.

Alternatively you could get a bus leaving Sevilla at 1pm that gets you to Almeria at 6.15pm . You would have to either stay in Almeria overnight or coordinate your return date where Exclusive Airport Shuttle have a late transfer at the airport and come back that way.

You can also fly to Sevilla from Almeria, 2 flights a day, one early morning, one in evening.

The train journey is very enjoyable as you go through great sceneries.

Bon voyage!
