Dogs are not allowed on any beaches at any time of the year anywhere in Spain.

A few risk being fined in the winter months, depends if you are reported or spotted by the Guardia Civil.

There are however a few designated beaches ' for dogs'. A search on google should give you the information.

These few beaches are not suitable for human bathing because no one appears to pick up doggie feces.

Hopes this clarifies the position for you, regards Al

Please do not mislead people.

There is an expat belief that dogs can go on beaches in the winter. It is not true.

Spanish bye laws are quite clear.

Put your thoughts to the Guardia Civil please for adjudication and then post your reply.

This varies from place to place. Generally dogs are often exercised on beaches October to March. Yes, strictly speaking this should not happen at any time but in practice it’s not an issue in the autumn/winter when there are no sunbeds out.

Having said that I have observed quite a few people walking their dogs on the beach in the summer months. Not to be encouraged!

I’m not a dog lover due to a bad experience I had as a little girl. I have nothing against them. I only have a problem with irresponsible dog owners who do not pick up their messes with no consequences. It’s such a shame when the council do try to keep the public places and beaches clean for people to enjoy at leisure. We all need to be more civic minded and caring for a healthy clean environment. To that end have a nice day.
