Brexit update: Entry requirements for tourists to Spain from 1 Jan 2021

I can attest to the neccessity of a letter.  We had a friend come visit us who was a Third Country National.  we had to get a letter for them from Policia Local .... It would have been easier for them to just book themselves into a hotel!!

That was to obtain a Schengen visa, so I am not sure the letter would be needed for a TCN with visa-free travel, but I sure as hell would not like to roll THOSE dice!!

I'm still waiting for my Irish Passport application to be approved, as my wife has an Irish Passport and I have an address in Ireland I'll probably be able to get an Irish Resident Card if the passport doesn't materialise.

Hi folks , me too waiting for Irish passport . My father wash Irish so sent all relevant forms and certificates off and hope for the best . Had my October flights cancelled and fingers crossed for my March flights but not hopeful now . I have been going to almeria since 1982 ( good old Tarleton travel ) . Love mojacar and have so many friends their ,it will be really a shame if the rules make it so hard to visit . Take care and be safe everyone 

Apparently some people have been waiting two years for the Irish passport- I’m almost a year - as my application is by residence there used to be a conferring ceremony but the last one was in March - apparently they are going to put legislation in place allowing people to sign a declaration instead

Thanks for update . Since I normally stay in friends apartments I’m not sure how it will work . I wonder what it’s going to be using a letting agent ? Will they have to get a letter from the police . I generally try to go January , March and October for anything between 3 to 6 weeks at a time . May have to take my spending money elsewhere 😎

Perhaps the everreliable and readable Mathew can give an incite in the Irish passport situation . Perhaps I could enjoy the beaches of bray or the horse racing in Killarney, the Galway festival and my beloved Guinness . Just might miss the sunshine . Happy days 

The passports used to take 6 months but that stretched to 9 months because of the increase in applications as a result of Brexit. Staff have also been redeployed because of Covid and then there have been no conferring ceremonies again because of Covid. Don’t think it affects those that have Irish parents/grandparents as much as they don’t need the conferring ceremony so they are only affected by staff shortages

Hi, I am wondering how easy it will going to Almeria if I got  house in Spain. Does anyone knows what are the rules to get into Spain as no resident but having a house in Spain? Do I need to show any Special letter or something. Thank you.
